New Cloth Doll

Here is a new cloth doll I have finished making, a fox, isn't he cute? I also made little pants for him out of imported japanese fabric. I'm thinking of putting him on Etsy, but in the meantime if anyone is interested in adopting foxy please contact me at caya@tpg.com.au :)

New Blog!

I have just set up a brand new blog dedicated especially to my Tubby Teddies! This is a design I came up with in mid 2008 and I had a great response. I have decided to concentrate on this design for a while and develop it a bit more. On this new blog you will find up-to-date news on new tubby teddies in progress and sneak peaks of what I'm working on :)

Brody

I have a new bear available on my website. His name is Brody and stands at 4.5 inches tall. He's a little bit different in that he is stuffed with beads to give him a more floppy feel. He is a new design, I hope you like him!

I am a Gemini, sometimes I do think I have two personalities, but I definitely can't relate to the fact that geminis are outgoing and want to be the centre of attention, that is definitely NOT me lol:)

Nothing too fashionable, just my layabout/housework clothes

3/4 pants, couldn't do without them

Holland. I haven't been there for so long now, it's in my blood and consider it my second home

What is your favourite piece of clothing from your closet?

A sheer red sleeveless blouse with a mandarin collar and drawstring at the bottom

What do you consider a Fashion faux pas?

Tracksuit pants and dress shoes, something I've always hated lol

bearmaking and dollmaking, tv/movies, travel, listening to music, playing with my son

Have you got pets at home?

Yes, my dog Woodley who is a golden spoodle. He is 5 years old. I also have a couple of tropical fish. I do have a cockatiel named Jakey but Mum has been looking after him for me for the last few years, I couldn't handle the screeching.

What are you proud of?

I'd have to say my son, he is such a sweet little boy, I'm sure I'm biased though ;)

What was the last movie you saw?

Marley & Me, I burst into tears at the end - something I never do!

Finished Kitty doll

Here is the finished Kitty doll! Isn't he sweet? I have named him "Oscar" and he is now available for adoption on my website: http://www.cayascreations.com/item_40/Oscar.htm. I do plan on making more kitty dolls soon so watch this space!

A work in progress

This is a kitty doll I've just finished. The face is slightly different to the last one I made, and I must say I'm really happy with it. I still don't know what to do about clothing yet. My ideas so far are:

* to make a dress or overalls out of felt and/or cotton print.

* draw on the clothes using a similar style to these dolls I made last year:

* or just keep the kitty au naturale.

I'm tending to lean towards drawing on the clothes as I have tried some cotton prints and coloured felt against the kitty and it does look a bit overwhelming and takes the attention off the subtle colours of the face. I hope to work more on the kitty tonight and maybe even get him finished. This one will be available for adoption on the website, I know I've been saying that a lot about my cloth dolls but I really mean it this time!! I do plan to make more kitty dolls so watch this space :)

In other news I drew the name for the Caya's Creations mailing list giveaway on the 31st of May. Congratulations to Genevieve Savard of Canada! "Coco" will be on his way to you soon. I had a great response to this year's comp, nearly 60 new members have joined the mailing list.
